Appliances
Large home appliances can account for a significant part of your energy usage. One way to save is to choose an ENERGY STAR® qualified replacement once your appliance reaches the end of its life. ENERGY STAR® appliances are in the top 15-30% of their class for energy performance. Look for the ENERGY STAR® symbol on the appliance’s EnerGuide label when shopping.
ENERGY STAR® can sometimes cost more up front, but the cost will be offset by energy savings over the life of the unit. You can also buy ENERGY STAR® qualified televisions, computers, air conditioners, light fixtures, LED light bulbs and more! If you’re replacing an appliance or electronic, always remember to recycle the one you’re replacing.
